Work Experience
Unfortunately, a
qualification isn’t always enough to enter your dream job. Even jobs that are
described as being entry level or that are at the lower end of the pay scale
may require previous work experience.
Completing work
experience shows employers that you are passionate and willing to do whatever
it takes to land a job in your field. It can also help you narrow down your
employment options.
Clairvaux
MacKillop's Career Pathways Department arranges the necessary work experience
agreements and scheduling to do work experience while at school. Students are
encouraged to seek their own work experience placements, and can still seek
support for a placement if required. The work experience blocks are the first
week of the school holidays for term 1, 2 and 3. Additional work experience
days or placement blocks can be requested directly to the Career/VET Pathways
Program Leader.
To arrange work
experience, please visit the Career Pathways Department for assistance.
The Department of Education
website has information relating to work experience.
VET and Other Pathways
The College has very well developed
and recognised vocational education programs.
These classes cater
for our vocationally-oriented students and may include commencing a
School-Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SAT) or study at TAFE. This pathway
option is not available to CRICOS students.
Senior Certificate Courses
As part of the VET
pathway options offered at Clairvaux MacKillop College, students in
years 11 and 12 can undertake certificate courses in a variety of industry
