Principal's Welcome

Clairvaux-Macillop-60 PRINCIPAL AND STUDENTS LIBRARY HERO version 3.jpg

My name is Wayne Chapman and, as the Principal, I welcome you to Clairvaux MacKillop College, a Year 7 – 12 secondary college in the Josephite and Edmund Rice tradition. The College is conveniently located in Upper Mt Gravatt with a strong reputation for excellence.

I have a deep passion for education. First and foremost, I am a teacher and I have spent my career working in Catholic education across both regional and city schools, in single sex schools and coeducational schools. I have a particular interest in technology, curriculum, and student wellbeing.

I stand for the transformative power of education and know that every young person can grow academically, socially, physically, and spiritually. My goal is that that every student leaves our gates a better human, highly developed and having enjoyed a wide range of experiences so they can become the best version of themselves in their life beyond school.

Young people need teachers who are committed to their holistic education. The best teachers are active learners themselves and are fully supported by a positive school culture, so that they grow in their skill and expertise as they model learning for our young people.

As an educator, I am naturally curious and have one eye on the future we are preparing our young people for, and the other on strategic leadership and strong relationships with teachers, parents, community, and most importantly, our students.

As a proud father of three, I truly understand the challenges of raising young people in the world of today and am excited by the way that a quality education can support and enhance family life.

I invite you to connect with us, see our beautiful campus and meet our teachers and students.
