Rest in Peace Mitch Cronin (1992-2020)

The Rugby League community and the Clairvaux MacKillop College community have been saddened by the unexpected passing of Mitch Cronin after a suspected medical condition. Mitch was a member of Clairvaux MacKillop College's graduating class of 2009. He commenced as a Year 8 student in 2005. Mitch's older brother, Ben, and his younger sister, Amy, also attended the college. Their parents, Chris and Andrea, were strong supporters of the College as they were both heavily involved in the co-curricular sporting program.  The Cronin family has strong connections to staff members, former students and families of Clairvaux MacKillop College

Mitch is remembered as a gentle, caring, smiling and compassionate young man. At school, he was well respected and popular amongst his peers and staff members.

Mitch was the College's Junior Sportsman of the Year in 2007.  In 2008 and 2009 Mitch was the Senior Sportsman of the Year.  His strongest sport was Rugby League.  Tony Price published a book in 2019.  Its title is The Confraternity Shield 1980 – 2019.  In the report on the 2008 carnival Mitchell Cronin was listed in the Stars of 2008.

Although Mitch was a fine player of Rugby League and a leader of his team, his former teachers and coaches of Clairvaux MacKilop College describe him as an outstanding young man.

Mitch and his family were to celebrate his 28th birthday on ANZAC Day.

It is difficult for the community of Clairvaux MacKillop College to comprehend that Mitch who was such a positive contributor to the College community is now in the gentle and loving embrace of our God.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mitch's parents, Chris and Andrea and his siblings, Ben and Amy.

Rest in peace, Mitch Cronin (1992 – 2020)
