VET and Other Pathways


The College has very well developed and recognised vocational education programs.
These classes cater for our vocationally-oriented students and may include commencing a School-Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SAT) or study at TAFE. This pathway option is not available to CRICOS students.


Senior Certificate Courses

As part of the VET pathway options offered at Clairvaux MacKillop College, students in years 11 and 12 can undertake certificate courses in a variety of industry areas. These are all registered with the Department of Education, Training and Employment (DETE) and are Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) compliant.

VET Pathways for School leavers for 2019 and 2020 Admission to University

​​​TAFE at school.JPGTAFE at School is a great way to:

  • get a qualification while still at school
  • gain valuable credit points towards your QCE
  • get a guaranteed entry into a TAFE Queensland Brisbane Diploma course
  • gain valuable credits towards a diploma course or university studies
  • make students work ready
  • build practical skills in an adult learning environment
  • learn from professionals, bursting with current industry knowledge

Students must be enrolled in Year 10*, 11 or 12 and attend a Queensland high school for the duration of the program. Students also need to have a Senior Education and Training (SET) Plan in place, and should talk to the school's Career Pathways Department.

  •  Students can only enrol in one program with TAFE Queensland *Subject to a letter of support from the school principal.
