School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships

Elisse Crouch - McDonalds 2018.bak.jpgYear 11 student, Elisse Crouch on successfully completing her Certificate II in Retail Services and Certificate III in Retail with McDonalds.

The two certificates will become invaluable, as employers Australia-wide respect the value of a McDonald's role on a resume.

Employers recognise the very important transferrable skills developed while working for McDonalds in their Traineeship Programs.

Australian Apprenticeships includes apprentices and trainees, and are available to students of working age. Clairvaux MacKillop College supports students who choose to do a School Based Apprenticeship, if the qualification can be beneficial and workable in the student's timetable. It combines paid time at work each week and a formal qualification.

The Career Pathways Department support School Based Apprentices through:

  • Referring vacancies for Traineeships/Apprenticeships
  • Attend contract signings
  • Conduct workplace visits
  • Help facilitate tutoring opportunities for theory work
  • Co-ordinate timetabling
