Hastings Deering – Work Experience to Apprenticeship

Dylan Gibb.Hastings Deering Traineeship signing.18.02.19 (Phone).jpgDylan Gibb in year 10, has recently signed up with Hastings Deering CAT for a school based apprenticeship as a Diesel Fitter. Hastings Deering is one of the largest Caterpillar dealer networks in the world, with a strong presence in the mining, construction, forestry, agricultural, materials handling and government sectors. They employ over 200,000 global Caterpillar employees, dealer employees and suppliers.

Dylan will work at their Acacia Ridge site, one day per week as an apprentice of Engineering-Diesel Fitting while he completes his senior education at CMC. This opportunity became available to Dylan after he participated in work experience with Hastings Deering in Term 4 of 2018.

Putting his best foot forward, Dylan impressed the team enough for them to offer him the Apprenticeship. Australian Apprenticeship Support Network Provider 'Busy at Work', coordinated the sign up in February, with Dylan's father and a CMC representative in attendance.

Congratulations Dylan on your new career path!
